Hi everyone! It's been a HOT summer and I'm trying to take advantage of as much outdoor time as possible. I've been undertaking a series of drawings on my back porch that's a bit of a departure from my usual dark fantasy/creature work. If you're on my discord, it should come as no surprise to you that all my gushing about the fine specimens from the gatcha game Love and Deepspace has finally forced my drawing hand. Yes, these 2D(3D?) men has me by the collar...🌶️

My creative process is a long laborious one, it takes me a long time to draw because I tend to get lost in the minutia and details in my work. Committing to a five piece portrait series required a certain level of commitment and dedication especially at the height of convention season when I'm travelling week to week. At first I just wanted to draw my favorites - Sylus and Rafayel, but it felt incomplete without the other boys. As I stewed indecisively days on end, I remembered just how much time I've dedicated to the game itself, and rationalized that studying the subtleties of their faces isn't a bad way to improve my pencil portraiture skills. Especially considering how much I enjoyed working on Maomao and Jinshi last month, I wanted to put what I learned into this new series.

Out of the five, I think Xavier and Caleb turned out the best! It's strange that even though they weren't my bias my drawing hand had other ideas. These mini 5" x 7" watercolor prints will be on my online store!​

LaDS Haul at AX

I was exhibiting at Anime Expo in July, but MORE IMPORTANTLY I got this Caleb bag from the Love and Deepspace booth at AX after two days of lining up. I was truly dedicated standing in the hot summer LA sun, and now it sits treasured in my art space☀️ Did you know people are selling theirs for almost $400 on ebay?? I'm definitely keeping mine in pristine condition...

Thanks for sticking around and letting me share my (admittedly slightly out of character) obsession with you guys. If you’ve got a favorite LaDS bias, yell at me about it, I’d love to hear your biases (so I can feel justified drawing more later).
